surfing the apocalypse - what you need to know

A less frequented beach with small to medium sized slow moving waves and a sandy bottom and sandy shore line is the perfect place to get started. Surfing lessons are all about taking your surfing to the next level regardless of how much experience, or lack thereof, you may have.

Depending on the climate and water temperature in your area, you may need a wetsuit. Others feel that longboards are great for learning, but after a year or two, a no longer newbie surfer can get more out of shortboard or a fish or a fun board. Another photographer and surfer named Doc Ball published California Surfriders 1946, which depicts the pristine coastal beaches and good time, relaxed atmosphere of surf living.

Check out the schools gear. If you re interested in learning to surf don t be intimidated by the sport, or the thought of finding the perfect beginner beach. Shortboards come in a variety of styles, but they are usually the thinnest kind of board with the least buoyancy.

Paddling the board, and jumping straight onto both feet as quick as possible. Always wear sun-block.
