longboard surfing - the easy way

Want to learn to surf but don t know where to start? Choosing the right board includes a few factors, including your skill level, your size or height, and what type of surfing you want to do.

Some people swear by longboards for their entire surfing career, claiming that they are faster and simply more fun. It s much easier to learn the right way to do things initially than to rectify bad habits and, you don t want to spend your hard earned money on surfing gear, in particular on a surfboard, before you ve had some training and experience, because you won t know what board best suits your style of surfing. Unless you choose the right equipment to match your level you are just adding to the difficulty.

Most surfers will tell you that surfing is more than just a sport; it s an existential experience, the ultimate rush, and it can be addictive. Made from a special lycra material, rash guards are made to be worn in the water and dry very quick. You can also find soft top boards which are even more ideal.

You have more fun surfing with someone else, always have someone to talk to and most importantly proof that you scored the waves you tell everyone about. Good surfing instruction really does make a world of difference.
