surfing wetsuits - stick to the fundamentals

The popularity of surfing starting growing in the1960's when movies like Gidget and Beach Blanket Bingo, which exposed the rest of the world to a sport only known to locals who were lucky enough to live near the beach. The Polynesians began the sacred ritualistic sport here more than 500 years ago.

You can ditch your board, paddle over the top, dive early or try to paddle under the lip. The trick to piercing an already broken wave is depth. It s much easier to learn the right way to do things initially than to rectify bad habits and, you don t want to spend your hard earned money on surfing gear, in particular on a surfboard, before you ve had some training and experience, because you won t know what board best suits your style of surfing.

It takes time to master the sport of surfing, but with the right instruction it can be easier than you think. Same goes for finding your gear, the Internet can save you money and also let you compare the different available equipment. Rash guard shirts were yet another great addition to a surfer s arsenal.

The midsize funboards can give you the stability of a longboard, but a little better maneuverability like a shortboard. But remember to be safe, take a lesson or two and be respectful out there, surfing can kill, but it is without question the most amazing feeling on earth!
