surfing pictures surfing guide

Undoubtedly one of the best places in the world to learn to surf is Australia. A good understanding of different surf breaks and when they are most suitable and optimum for your surf ability will save you hours of frustrating beatings and no progress sessions because often you are just getting pummeled and taking a beating.

If they were not easy to carry and use then nobody would be surfing today because there are many people who have to walk for awhile before they can surf and nobody wants to carry a hundred pound wood surfboard. Surfing, although curtailed in the aftermath of WWII, revived as always by the 1950s. This is the place were surfing legends are made and broken.

As soon as you break the surface, get back on your surfboard and paddle like crazy. Its unique shape allows for a looser, faster board for fun on those smaller days. Get fit and spend time in the pool if you need to.

Practice jumping up in one motion, standing side on and keeping the board planing if possible. Do not go out too far, even if you are a confident swimmer.
